Juxtaposition

Postby Monsoon » Thu Sep 20, 2012 8:16 pm

Has anybody else noticed an increasing trend in how people are saying how wonderul it is to find principles of tai ji in nature? This strikes me as terribly anthropocentric. Surely it is tai ji quan that seeks to return our movements back to the natural order. Almost sounding a bit daoist there.

"....an increasing trend in how people...."

what people? the people you hang out with? writiers in magazines? who exactly?

"...tai ji quan seeks...."

Taiji seeks things? Or do we seek to return our movements to the natural order through studying Taiji? Is this not similar to the crime you are accusing the general populace of?

In principle, you are probably correct in what you are suggesting (excluding the first two sentences of yours). Your delivery is a bit on the pedantic/semantic side, wouldn't you say?

It was simply an observation, don't make more of my poor writing skills than that please.

Anyway, it always gives me a good laugh when someone points out pedantry in another post. Oh the irony, much.

As for the trend... well, I have seen it and heard said more often of late, that's all. I guess that counts as a kind of trend. I'll leave you to piddle about with semantics.
