ball qi gong

Postby oldbeermaker » Tue Feb 28, 2012 4:45 am

Dear,
I bought recently two dvds Dr Yang with tai chi ball training. I expected to find a full form so I could practise it by myself in full range of this precious art. unfortunately there is no form included and I feel that this is very not right. I feel very disappointed. so my question is where I can find a full form to download to my pc so I could play/pause/repeat. it is not possible to find any teacher. this solution is already working, I have learned tai chi this way based on cd of master yang. I am waiting for positive solutions/links to download. thank you thousands. Artur/oldbeermaker

Hi

there is no such thing as a tai chi ball form. Dr. Yang's videos are the first time that the 48 patterns have been collected into a curriculum. Normally, your taiji master will just give the ball to train a few of the patterns, such as forward circling, or rotating .

A future Tai Chi Ball program may contain a follow-along format form.

No one teaches tai chi ball anymore, and very few people even know that this traditional training ever existed.

mr Dvivid.
I asked for positive solution and what I got is balls***. there are many videos on you tube with masters and their balls. the problem is that they are short, cut and you cant really learn from it. maybe I should ask joeblast, his advices are far more complete and professional. ANY LINK WITH TAI CHI BALL PLEASE you could copy and train. thank you.
and what does do advertisement under chi gong ball post. I thought we have to stick to the topic?

Not a very nice reply to someone who is trying to help you. Also, the advertisements are SPAM and nothing to do with the Forum.

Having said that, seeing you are in the UK, here's a link to a UK bases Qigong group:

You may find what you're looking for there!

Has it ever occured to you that those other videos were just copies of Dr Yang? There are not many "masters" of taiji, and those that there are, wouldnt post on youtube. Those are pretenders, not masters. That you struggle with the difference, and your tone, speaks volumes.

Also the ads are called SPAM and were dealt with, as you can see.

careful with regards to expectations, if one is too attached to them the it leads to disappointment.

personally I found the vids to be excellent, a lot of good little things to work on. I mostly do things spontaneously so "a complete form"...well, I didnt even notice its absence

Joe blast, this is the best comment I could dream of!!!!
you should be moderator and keep eye on everything on this site. yes you are right, I need to temper my ego much more, I am working on it and will work more, yes I do apologize, but I do not believe that for thousands of years nobody made a form of ball qi gong. I do not believe it. it looks like I have to make it on my own.
thank you very much for very teaching comment. artur

Big assumption my friend. You assume that taiji ball is OLD. What happens if it is only 100 years old?

 flattering, but unnecessary! D and these guys do a good job here even though occasionally spam finds its way through, but that happens plenty of places. I can contribute without needing access to administrative things like moving and deleting threads and such.

I think with regard to is there an actual complete form, dr Yang has done tons of excellent research and if there were any prominent forms then his research would likely have uncovered their existence. Of course that's not absolute and we cant assume Dr Yang has looked under every rock in China, but I think that says something about how much collective time and effort goes into something as significant as "establishing a form."
