Mco and knee

Postby manaus » Tue Apr 23, 2013 4:05 am

Hello,
as I beginner I concentrate mainly on the renmo and dumo, which I feel not being yet fluid. But I injured my knee long time ago, having a aching leg which goes up to the hui yin. And it hurts. Should I go 'off route' and walk through the (left) leg meridian before completing the mco? Definitely, when I keep my attention on the knee, the whole body relaxes.

Thanks!

no, do horse stance, stand on one leg, stuff like that...physical is usually best addressed on the physical side.

MCO has nothing to do with the knee. In fact, we cross the legs in MCO in order to decrease the circulation in the legs deliberately. Do NOT put your attention on the legs when practicing MCO.

Once your Qi becomes "abundant", meaning more energy that usual, and you are circulating it smoothly, it becomes quite powerful. There are stories of people frying the nerves in their legs and becoming paralyzed forever. Cross your legs, keep them crossed, and keep your attention (Yi/intention) on your MCO. Return Qi to the abdomen and chill for a few minutes before uncrossing the legs.

not that I was concentrating on my legs, but doing 3dt mco while ding shr downward sinking palm is quite potent ;) (but of course one wouldnt start out doing mco like that)

@Dvivid
Thanks, I've read that one could 'send energy wherever he feels sick'. Should I ignore the knee? Dis-ease is somewhat a calling for attention, is not that a natural mechanism?...

do the opposite hahaha 8) have an illness, set the focus of your awareness upon it until it is eradicated. sooner the better. that's why its good to do plenty of laogung breathing, open your palms at your knee and put an energetic compress on it, focus sharpened by one pointed awareness.
