healing sounds

Postby manaus » Sat May 25, 2013 11:11 am

Hello,
I'm interested in hearing your opinion on healing sounds. There are now some sources/versions available on youtube and other places.
I'm asking because, for example, liver resounds on the left (!) part of the diaphragm, spleen resounds under the sternum and so on. Am I to worry for this? :)

well...the liver does extend all the way over to the left side a bit, and the spleen system includes the pancreas/duodenum which is a bit more centrally located. plus the channels for the most part have stereo components to them - so I dont think these things are a big issue and not something to primarily focus on - the primary focus is on the process of calming and harmonizing the zangfu and associated channels.

gross to subtle, sounded to soundless, I find the differing methods can be effectively combined :)
Even in mildly complex systems, any outcome is the wrong thing to target, with the process being where the focus should be.

I love the healing sounds, they have done wonders for me. Just FYI in TCM the Liver pertains to the left side of the body as its qi rises and the left side is the ascending side of the body for qi.

Since it is certainly about frequency, pitch, and volume, the effects must differ if any of these are different, wouldn't it ? I'm doing the sounds as per Mantak Chia, in which approach all of the sounds comes clearly accross as based on Western phonetic sounds. As described in the book, and in the CD that comes along with the book in which a Western guy does it. But then, from the Chinese Health Qigong Association, the sounds are more akin to the Chinese phonetics. Especially more from the full version of the video (youtube) since they go into details for each sound.

For instance, the 呵 sound for the heart. In Chia, this is 'Haaaw' while 呵 is 'he1' in Chinese (as shown by CHQA) which is a substantial difference if resonating at a certain frequency using a certain tone specific for an organ is concerned.

The theory behind this is quite interesting, with organs holding emotions and the need to release heat by 'vibrating' the fascia enveloping each organ.

In any case it is a nice exercise to do to end the day.

I realize I am being picky but experientially it appears to be more akin to vibration/vibratory resonance as opposed to SOUND! Just my experience y nada mas!

I have the impression that for instance an 'Ah' sound would be different than an 'Oh' sound at the physical level, which includes vibrations. The famous East Indian 'Om mani padmi om' is not 'Am muni pedni Im' for instance :)
