Postby monogatari » Mon Nov 04, 2013 7:25 pm

Hello,

Are there any articles/writings by Dr. Yang about the problem of Qigong deviation ? Symptoms, how to not get it, etc... Any practical information ?

Plenty of them - and they all revolve around diligent application of fundamentals to practice. Always end energy work or meditations with stillness, there are also closing routines (shuigong iirc?) that include things like rubbing the head and so forth to dissipate any leftover qi that your stillness did not absorb.

Most important, application of fundamentals. You learn stillness first not because it is a beginner thing, but because it is a fundamentals thing that is part and parcel of every energetic practice. It is the foundation upon which the house is built and is the way to avoid problems with more powerful energy moving exercises.
Even in mildly complex systems, any outcome is the wrong thing to target, with the process being where the focus should be.

Qigong deviations are, in reality, adverse experiences (events) that a practitioner experiences when practicing qigong. They are usually mild, moderate or severe regarding degree, are mostly psychological in manifestation. If unresolved, they can progress to psychiatric abnormalities, and have the potential to increase present symptomology (for one who has a psychiatric designation)

There can also trigger cardiovascular abnormalities in those prone to such conditions.
QIgong is still a safe and fun activity for those who have good teachers and access to proper instruction(s).
