Fighting & self-defence.

Postby Phalanxpursos » Thu Sep 06, 2007 12:58 pm

Just be friendly towards eachother.

I have practiced self-defense for a longer period of time, in my life's experiences I came across several fights in public spaces. My learning experience tells me that a fight can be prevented with morality, but if the fight can not be prevented anymore then resort to self-defense or defense of others.

Just bringing someone out of balance should be enough to say :,, You are on the ground, you lose the fight. Those are the rules, let's stop fighting."

The fights that I have fought on the street:

Because I have a Greek hoplite as icon I should tell some heroic war stories, basically I've always had the urge to bring the opponent off-balance. This is a clean way of fighting, without any injuries on both sides.

So that's how I win my fights without any injuries on both sides.

The people I've been up against; Ukranian weightlifter/construction worker, a Dutch person weighing over 200 kilos, a Dutch punker over 2 meters tall, a highly trained over-exited security officer and they all tried to injure me seriously and if there is something I can't stand it's injuries.

One particular interesting moment.

Is when I worked a muscular shoplifter to the ground with just one shoulder bash, I'm Taurus. My martial arts teacher was standing next to me and he's Taurus to, in 1 seconds I see a muscular shoplifter being chased by a security officer. By the time I reacted he was on the floar and probably in pain, I just stood there watching and didn't have to do anything.

Basically I controled him by doing nothing afterwards.

While he was on the floor I was already making plans what to do if he got up, so just me doing nothing was for him a reason to lay on the floor. While he was on the floor I did nothing, but if he made one wrong move.

I would have restricted his movement and probably show off somekind of morally-correct techniques.

Another fight.

I say :,, Yes sir, mister leader sir !" To a security officer and he threatens to kick me out, so I say to the security officer :,, Open the door for me then !" and he begins to strangle me.

Because he attacked my throat with his elbow, I used my throat to bring him out of balance. When he was on the floor feet pointing upwards I told him again to open the door, he stands up and starts choking me again in exactly the same way.

So I touch 1 presure point on him for 1 second and he instantly backed out and opened the door for me.

The punker one was funny.

This guy was very big and he didn't like me, so he always tried to turn his back towards me and push me in the corner. So I tell him, let's just be more respectful towards eachother. This dude starts threatening me in a pub, so me and him are kicked out. We talk outside, this guy is nuts I want back in the pub.

This dude prevents me from going back by blocking the entrance, in 2 seconds; I couldn't go left, I couldn't go right. I went through his center, walked over him and asked for reinforcements. So this guy get's up and pushes me to the wall, he intimidates me in absurd close range for 5 minutes I did nothing.

To show my innocence I just started smoking a sigaret and say nothing.

My plan, was to break him by the time I finish the sigaret. I throw away the sigaret when it's finished and threw him 2 meters away from me against the pinball machine, this guy crashlanded with a really loud bang and I was on top of him restricting him.

So I get 5 guys on me.

They were on top me with 5 but still I was able to kick him, so when this punker dude kicked me once while I was restricted by 5 he also gets 5 guys on him and the fight was ended by the bystanders.

If the bystanders wouldn't have helped him I might have become too cruel.

VERY impressive. Seriously. I don't think I could take someone that big. Or five guys against one. But here's my story. A fellow martial artist and I are at a club, and a guy who hates us is hanging out with his friends. There's like ten of them and they surround us. I kicked the smallest one in the face and knocked him over, then bolted the hell outta that circle. I side-kicked one to my right, outside crescent-kicked one to my left, then my friend hit one in the windpipe and knocked him over. This convinced the rest of them to back down.
Anything goes.

When I was 16 I beat my 40 year old Karate teacher basically in ground wrestling again and again, but he was former European heavyweight champion karate. So I have lots of experience with heavyweights from an early age, to a routined extend.

Very intelligent move, I should be glad not to have been in a situation like that.

Very intelligent how you worked yourself out of a situation like that.

Thank you for the compliment. I get surrounded or backed against walls a lot, so I have experience with getting out of no-way-out situations. I really suck at ground fighting though, so you could probably beat me if you got me on the ground.
Anything goes.

Obese people their lives are worthy of respect.

But I can tell you a story of an obese gentlemen that wasn't very respectful towards me or other people, basically the story begins with me and my group of friends.

Drunken Tai chi.

Like there's this new guy in my group of friends, an obese guy who works as a butcher. Supposedly he only eats meat and occasionally eats raw meat, that's why he is so obese.

I'm a vegetarian.

This obese guy weighes about 200 kilos, he sexually harrassed the wife of a friend of mine who happened to sit next to him when it happened.

So I had trouble believing this story because I wasn't there.

But at Christmass eve I was very drunk at a party, in my right hand I had Vodka/Passion fruit. In my left hand a plastic toy sword and was talking to an 8 year old child, when all of a sudden this obese guy comes from my rightside and starts to strangle me while I was very drunk talking to a kid.

First thing I did was drop the toy sword with my left hand

With my left hand I grabbed his fingers and tried to break them, act as if nothing is happening and continue drinking Vodka.

So this dude tries to push me once.

I derooted him and for a moment it looked like he was going to crash through the wall, the whole party was afraid John was going to crash through the wall cause it rebounced. During the crashing I had the Vodka in my right hand and placed my left hand before my diaphragm vingers together pointing upwards, thumbs in and just impose tension with silence.

The guy became afraid and left the party.

The Ukranian weightlifter was even worse.

I mean this guy literary tried to kill me because I beat him with a game of chess, I just pressure points on him. Months later he tried to break my arms, so I turned his wedding device into sandwich spread.

Since then he hasn't attacked me anymore.

Oh man, I fought so many people.

Like there's an overly exited, overly trained Thai boxer who really wants to sparr with me in a shin contest. I wouldn't do it now, but then I just streched out my leg and let him do all the kicking.

He had to surrender, we became buddies after.

first of all nobody gets in so many conflicts with out doing there part to cause the the conflict.Second you sound extremely cocky and arrogant. This mite be the cause of your many conflicts.Pressur points and off balancing opponents into submission with out causing harm,Please! This would never be the case in a real fight, with an opponent who is really trying to hurt you.You obviously have never been in a real fight!

DOM: I agree that it takes two people to fight, but I disagree with your statement that pressure points don't work in real fights. I won a fight by phoenix-fisting a guy on the cavity an inch below the left nipple and he went down like a ton of bricks.

Thanks for this reply.

I forsaw your question, the fact that you asked yourself this question is good.

I know the answer.

Harddrugs, all those people who attacked me used hardrugs. Not me, I am inside a dojo from an early age and have never use hardrugs.

Harddrugs makes people do these things not me.

I just used Chi.

yes Pressure points/Dim mak is real. But first you need enough skill education and experience. To even know the locations, time of year and seasons never the less acquire the amount of skill, timing, quickness and to emit penetrating power into a location that will knock out or kill your opponent is far beyond must people's capabilities. Plus it is much easier and more effective to apply pressure points to a willing participant.

Nah, just scare points. You touch once on an important part, and it scares them.

All right, calm down. The truth of Phalanx's posts may be debatable (NOT TO GANG UP ON YOU, PHALANX) but this thread is not the place for it. So why don't we just take some deep breaths and calm down.
Anything goes.

It's very simple, I just use the shoulder bash as primary form of defense (soft or hard) without any intention to inflict injury.

Oh, I get it now. That works. I used that in combination with fajin and knocked over my sparring partner, who is a full head higher than me.

Being a succesful ground wrestler, I adopted quickly to the Chen style and combined this with the Yang style. Basically if you want to use the shoulder bash succesfully, get in low stance first. If the center of balance shifts a little bit but very fast, the object will be projected at the speed you hit him with. Opposite; if you shift the balance greatly but at a slow speed, the object will be projected slower.

You just need a fraction of a second for the innitial impact.

Long range shoulder bash, is just like obstruction in soccer.
