They will reunite in October during Dr. Yang's trip to Taiwan.

If all goes well, there will be a VIDEO of the reunion, and the entire trip...

Can't barely wait!!

I think everyone at YMAA will love to know more about Master Gao's lineage. Also, it would be interesting to see how Dr. Yang's and Master Gao's forms compare to each other, since I assume both of them must have made some changes during all these years.

I had the chance to watch most of his performance just before I got called away. I thought it was a pretty good version of Yang style. I didn't see anything too out of the ordinary, so maybe this will put some of the doubters in their place.

BTW, all the YMAA people I met there were nice people.

There is video footage of the reunion. However, the sound quality isn't too great. It was very windy that day and our microphone's windscreen didn't do it's job very well :( Hopefully we'll be able to clear it up when we edit the footage. There is also an interview section with Master Gao (YMAA Taijiquan lineage is explained within) and many shots of our tour of Taipei with him.

As of the article, I don't think there is one being written. I could be mistaken though. If not, I may be tempted to type one up.. although I must admit, my writing skills could use a little work.

Dave C. - Who are you? Did I meet you in Taipei?

Oh yeah.. the comparison of Master Yang and Master Gao's forms. Although they both have similar aspects, the forms look completely different from each other. Both however are beautiful in their own ways.

I live in Taipei. I write the Formosa Neijia blog.

I stood next to a YMAA member filming Master Gao's performance. Was it you? I thought the gentleman said he was from the London school but perhaps I'm wrong.

I agree that the forms look different. Perhaps Dr. Yang picked up some influences from Han Qing-tan's Yang style. It doesn't really matter.

Hope you enjoyed your time in Taipei.

There were two cameras filming during the trip. One was ours from the Retreat Center. The second was from our school director from Tennessee. The London representative you met may have been filming with his camera. I had ours at the opposite side of the stadium. I'm not sure what he's doing with his footage, but ours will be unavailable (at least for now.)

I did have a really good time in Taipei. It was great to return to Taiwan. It's really changed a lot since the last time I was there. I enjoyed my stay very much :)

I don't think I was able to speak with you on this trip. Any chance of you visiting the states? If not, I guess I'll be seeing you at the next tournament :P

I'd love to hear the interview and see the footage. This is just too good, and it's understandable that it should be saved for a DVD. Please, keep us up to date about when this material becomes available. Thanks.

Hello

this video will be made available once it is edited in December.

Higher quality video results in bigger files sizes, and it needs editing before being thrown onto the web.

We'll keep you posted!

The interview section still needs to be translated. Footage from the trip is currently being edited and should be done mid-December. We're still deciding if the full interview should be included or not. If it is, it will most likely remain untranslated for now. We are currently working on multiple projects as well as training every day. Because of this, we are very pressed on time. By the end of the semester, we hope to have this project and a promotional video for the Retreat Center completed.

Thanks for your patience :)

We were unable to finish it before our break. We'll work on it once we get back and will submit it to Dvivid as soon as possible.

Thank you for being patient.
