Good post brer_momonga. I agree.

I'm myself new to this forum, and new to taijiquan. Feels like it takes courage to ask questions here due to the fear of getting bashed and answers with arrogant tone.

I know what you mean and, yes it does get a little crazy at times. Problem is people don't think alike. In a perfect world we all get along. It's not much fun but no one gets hurt or insulted. Try not to worry whether you will ask or say something stupid. How much worse could it be than when I went completely off the charts claiming that I didn't believe a word of Qigong and said it was just a ploy to sell lessons. Did I get called an idiot, moron, fool, etc? Sure did, but guess what I'm still here and if people want to think I'm a nut case, well, they can have at it. I look on it like I may propose crazy ideas and or ask idiotic questions but it's much better than letting an idea or thought simply go past in the night. I may say a 1000 stupid things if my life(and most likely have) just to get that single correct thing out there. And that's probably the average among people. This is the place to ask things. You'll cause all kinds of arguements, be called a fool, and yet you'll get some decent answers. Some right, some wrong, some, well.
Find what seems right to you and question further. There are more than a few people on this forum who know what they are talking about. Of course, there are more than a few who don't, but if you listen to the ideas of all of them you'll strike a little gold here and there.

*and now back to our regularly scheduled program*

The only evidence that Jiang Fa ever existed is a painting of Chen Wangting and Jiang Fa that dates to the late Ming dynasty. This would date Jiang Fa as being in Chen Village more than 139 years before Yang was born. Chen Wangting died in 1660, Yang Luchan was born in 1799.

just re-read my posts in this thread....wasn't thinking before typing. I wasn't trying to come off like a sarcastic asshat, just typing fast and thinking too little. I like to get right to the heart of a point and not dance around, ya know? apologies to wpg and all forum members! I'll cool it from now on.

No one knows. :P

By the way...was it so that you'd have the chance to go learn Wu/Hao nearby?

Wu(hao) has been on my mind and it interests me but due to a lack of an instructor nearby
I'm now debating whether to give it a try using videos and books. I will probably keep up the Yang
until I become fairly well read on Wu(hao) and then see if it seems that it would be fairly compatable with what I already know, then get into the videos and actual practice.

Purely out of interest...I found this on YouTube....think it is the 'Lee's Modified Yang Style' you mention...
