Everyone's physiology is slightly (or sometimes extremely) different.
For most of us, closing the mouth works to get the tongue in position, but others need to search just behind the two front teeth for the most sensitive spot. That's the place you're looking for.
If your tongue is curled back at all, you've gone too far. But for some, straight up in the soft palate is the spot.
