ABOUT YMAA BELGIUM - LEUVEN

YMAA Leuven was founded by Erik Elsemans in November 1997. Erik has trained in the martial arts for 13 years, switching from Kickboxing to Hakkoryu Jujutsu to Taijiquan, and finally switching to doing both Taijiquan and Shaolin Kung Fu at YMAA since May 1996. He started his YMAA training under Pascal Plée, the President of YMAA France, for about one year, but realizing he needed more training, he started traveling to YMAA Headquarters in Boston from the summer of 1997 to train under Dr. Yang. Since then he has visited YMAA Headquarters during the winter and summer seminar period 18 times, usually for 1 to 2 months each time, during which he lived and trained at the school, taking regular classes and seminars with Dr. Yang.

Erik has assisted Master Yang with teaching classes and seminars in Boston and Andover (Massachusetts, USA), Holland, and Belgium.
He was the Taiji saber instructor in the International Summer Camp 2007 under dr. Yang in France.
He has also taught on his own in Poland, Bermuda, Holland, and Italy.
He has participated in:

• Several YMAA International Summer Camps with Dr. Yang in Poland, Hungary, Portugal, and France


• 2 YMAA Poland Winter Camps


• Seminars with Dr. Yang in Belgium, France, and Holland
